Impact XPU Carbon was created for skaters who want a deck that keeps its shape, pop and structural feel much longer than a traditional maple board.
The latest XPU Carbon 2.1 construction is the result of years of testing, rider feedback and continuous refinement of our composite skateboard technology.

Compared with the previous generation, XPU Carbon 2.1 uses a refined composite layup and additional reinforcement in critical high-stress areas – particularly directly behind the trucks, where skateboard decks are exposed to some of the highest bending and impact loads.

What makes XPU Carbon different?

XPU Carbon combines a vertically laminated wood core with carbon fiber, fiberglass, polyurethane sidewalls and our FlowSlick bottom layer.
Instead of relying only on wooden veneers, the deck uses several materials together – each performing a specific structural function.

The result is a deck designed to remain stiff, responsive and consistent through repeated skating while offering significantly better resistance to typical skateboard damage such as chipping, edge wear and moisture.

Carbon-reinforced response

Carbon fiber is the main feature that separates XPU Carbon from our standard XPU construction.
It increases stiffness and helps the deck maintain a precise, direct response under load.

With a 5/5 stiffness rating, XPU Carbon is the firmest construction in the Impact range.
It is designed for skaters who prefer a solid deck with less flex and immediate feedback under their feet.

Reinforced critical break zones

One of the most important developments in version 2.1 is the refinement of the composite reinforcement around the highest-stress areas of the deck.

The amount, type, orientation and positioning of selected fibers were adjusted, with additional reinforcement concentrated around the areas directly behind the trucks.
These zones experience extremely high bending and impact forces during hard landings and repeated street skating.

The goal is simple: distribute those loads more effectively and increase resistance to structural failure.

No skateboard deck is unbreakable, but XPU Carbon 2.1 is engineered specifically to improve resistance in the areas where skateboard decks most commonly fail.

Razor-tail and abrasion resistance

Impact decks use molded polyurethane sidewalls instead of exposed wooden edges.
The PU protects the core from abrasion, impacts and moisture while dramatically reducing the typical chipping and splintering associated with traditional maple decks.

In laboratory abrasion testing, our polyurethane edge showed up to 13× higher resistance to razor-tail wear compared with a classic 7-ply maple deck.

Real-world skating involves many more variables – surface type, pressure, temperature and riding style all affect wear.
Based on our experience, real-life razor-tail resistance is typically around 2–3× higher than on traditional maple.

Protection against chips and moisture

Classic skateboard decks leave the wooden edge directly exposed to curbs, impacts and water.
Once damaged, those exposed plies can begin to chip, swell or delaminate.

Impact uses polyurethane sidewalls to protect and seal the wood core, while the FlowSlick bottom layer provides additional protection over the structural laminate.

The result is a deck far better prepared for wet streets, rough curbs and repeated edge impacts than a conventional exposed maple construction.

Long, smooth slides

Our FlowSlick bottom layer is designed to reduce friction and protect the structural laminate underneath.

• Smoother slides: less sticking and more consistent glide.
• Less wax dependency: FlowSlick helps the deck slide more easily across a wider range of surfaces.
• Bottom protection: the sliding layer acts as a sacrificial wear surface over the composite structure.

Pop that stays consistent

Traditional wooden decks gradually soften as their plies go through repeated flexing, impacts and moisture exposure.

The carbon and fiberglass reinforcement inside XPU Carbon helps the deck maintain its structural response over time.
This means the board is designed to keep its shape, stiffness and responsive feel through significantly more skating.

Choose the right Impact construction

Not every skater wants the same board feel.
All Impact constructions are designed around durability, but they differ in stiffness, materials and weight.

XPU Carbon – maximum stiffness

Choose XPU Carbon if you prefer the firmest and most direct board feel.
Carbon reinforcement gives it a stiffness rating of 5/5, while durability remains at our maximum 5/5.

XPU – more flex, same durability rating

Choose XPU if you want a little more flex under your feet.
It contains no carbon and uses more fiberglass reinforcement instead, giving it a stiffness rating of 4/5 while maintaining the same 5/5 durability rating as XPU Carbon.

XPU is not a lower-quality version of Carbon – it is simply tuned for a different feel.

XPU Lite – lower weight

XPU Lite is the lighter, more flexible option in the range.
It contains no carbon and has a stiffness rating of 4/5.
Current XPU Lite decks use our previous-generation construction and carry a durability rating of 4/5.

If maximum durability is your priority, choose one of the current XPU 2.1 constructions.
If lower weight is more important, XPU Lite offers another option where available.

Inside every XPU Carbon deck is a carefully engineered combination of materials:

Every Impact deck is pressed and finished in our workshop in Poland.
We produce in controlled batches, test our constructions, collect feedback from riders and continuously refine the way our decks are built.
