XPU Carbon – choose it if you want the stiffest, most direct and responsive feel. Carbon reinforced. Stiffness 5/5, durability 5/5.

XPU – choose it if you prefer more flex with the same maximum durability. Fiberglass reinforced, without carbon. Stiffness 4/5, durability 5/5.

XPU Lite – choose it if lower weight is your priority. No carbon. Stiffness 4/5, durability 4/5.

The 2.1 generation is the latest evolution of our composite deck construction. Compared with previous-generation 1.6 decks, it uses a thinner core and a refined reinforcement layout designed to improve durability in the areas that take the highest loads.

– Thinner wood core – approx. 0.3 mm thinner than in v1.6.
– Refined composite layup – the amount, orientation and positioning of selected reinforcement fibers have been updated.
– Reinforced critical zones – additional reinforcement is concentrated behind the trucks, where decks are exposed to some of the highest stresses.
– Improved durability – both current XPU 2.1 constructions are rated 5/5 for durability.

The Standard shape follows the industry norm — it has a slightly longer nose than tail, which gives you a bit more control riding forward.

The Twin shape has a symmetrical nose and tail, making it perfect for switch skating and balanced board feel in both directions.

Impact XPU 2.1 Skateboard Deck

Our carbon-free composite construction – more flex than XPU Carbon, with the same maximum durability rating.

Impact XPU was created for skaters who want the durability and long-lasting performance of a composite deck without the extra stiffness of carbon reinforcement.
The latest XPU 2.1 construction uses a vertically laminated wood core combined with increased fiberglass reinforcement, polyurethane sidewalls and our FlowSlick bottom layer.

Compared with previous-generation constructions, XPU 2.1 uses a thinner core and a refined composite layup with additional reinforcement in critical high-stress areas – particularly directly behind the trucks, where skateboard decks are exposed to some of the highest bending and impact loads.

XPU 2.1 – more flex, maximum durability

  • Carbon-free construction: reinforced with fiberglass instead of carbon for a less stiff and more natural board feel.
  • Stiffness: 4/5.
  • Durability: 5/5.
  • More fiberglass reinforcement: engineered to deliver high strength without the additional stiffness of carbon.
  • Updated composite layup: reinforcement placement and fiber orientation have been refined to improve load distribution.
  • Reinforced critical zones: additional reinforcement is concentrated around the areas directly behind the trucks.
  • Thinner wood core: approximately 0.3 mm thinner than the core used in previous-generation 1.6 constructions.
  • Finished deck thickness: approximately 9.34–9.5 mm.

What makes XPU different?

XPU combines a vertically laminated wood core with fiberglass reinforcement, polyurethane sidewalls and our FlowSlick bottom layer.
Unlike XPU Carbon, it contains no carbon fiber.

Using more fiberglass allows us to maintain our maximum 5/5 durability rating while giving the deck a little more flex under your feet.

The result is a strong, responsive composite deck with a more natural board feel – designed for skaters who want maximum durability without the extra stiffness of XPU Carbon.

Fiberglass-reinforced response

The biggest difference between XPU and XPU Carbon is the reinforcement material.
XPU replaces the carbon reinforcement with a fiberglass-based construction.

Fiberglass provides excellent impact resistance and load distribution while allowing the deck to flex more naturally.
With a 4/5 stiffness rating, XPU feels less rigid than XPU Carbon while retaining the same 5/5 durability rating.

For skaters who prefer a little more movement and feedback from the deck, XPU offers a balance between familiar skateboard feel and modern composite durability.

Reinforced critical break zones

One of the most important developments in version 2.1 is the refinement of the reinforcement around the highest-stress areas of the deck.

The amount, orientation and positioning of selected fibers were adjusted, with additional reinforcement concentrated around the areas directly behind the trucks.
These zones experience extremely high bending and impact forces during hard landings and repeated street skating.

The goal is simple: distribute those loads more effectively and increase resistance to structural failure.

No skateboard deck is unbreakable, but XPU 2.1 is engineered specifically to improve resistance in the areas where decks commonly fail.

XPU 2.1 – what’s new?

Razor-tail and abrasion resistance

Impact decks use molded polyurethane sidewalls instead of exposed wooden edges.
The PU protects the core from abrasion, impacts and moisture while dramatically reducing the typical chipping and splintering associated with traditional maple decks.

In laboratory abrasion testing, our polyurethane edge showed up to 13× higher resistance to razor-tail wear compared with a classic 7-ply maple deck.

Real-world skating involves many more variables – surface type, pressure, temperature and riding style all affect wear.
Based on our experience, real-life razor-tail resistance is typically around 2–3× higher than on traditional maple.

Protection against chips and moisture

Classic skateboard decks leave the wooden edge directly exposed to curbs, impacts and water.
Once damaged, those exposed plies can begin to chip, swell or delaminate.

Impact uses polyurethane sidewalls to protect and seal the wood core, while the FlowSlick bottom layer provides additional protection over the structural laminate.

The result is a deck far better prepared for wet streets, rough curbs and repeated edge impacts than a conventional exposed maple construction.

Long, smooth slides

Our FlowSlick bottom layer is designed to reduce friction and protect the structural laminate underneath.

  • Smoother slides: less sticking and more consistent glide.
  • Less wax dependency: FlowSlick helps the deck slide more easily across a wider range of surfaces.
  • Bottom protection: the sliding layer acts as a sacrificial wear surface over the composite structure.

Pop that stays consistent

Traditional wooden decks gradually soften as their plies go through repeated flexing, impacts and moisture exposure.

The fiberglass reinforcement inside XPU helps the deck maintain its structural response over time.
It is designed to retain its shape, flex characteristics and responsive feel through significantly more skating.

Compared with the stiffer XPU Carbon construction, XPU provides a little more flex while retaining the same maximum durability rating.

Choose the right Impact construction

Not every skater wants the same board feel.
Our constructions differ mainly in stiffness, reinforcement materials and weight.
Use the comparison below to choose the one that fits your riding style.

Advanced XPU construction

Inside every XPU deck is a carefully engineered combination of materials:

  • Vertically laminated wood core – provides the structural backbone of the deck and contributes to its natural board feel.
  • Fiberglass reinforcement – provides strength, impact resistance, load distribution and torsional control without the additional stiffness of carbon.
  • Reinforced critical zones – additional composite reinforcement is positioned around high-stress areas.
  • Polyurethane sidewalls – protect against chips, impacts, moisture and razor-tail wear.
  • FlowSlick bottom layer – reduces friction during slides and protects the structural laminate underneath.

Built in Poland. Refined through testing.

Every Impact deck is pressed and finished in our workshop in Poland.
We produce in controlled batches, test our constructions, collect feedback from riders and continuously refine the way our decks are built.

XPU 2.1 represents the current carbon-free evolution of that development – combining a more natural flex with our maximum durability rating and the protection of Impact’s multi-material composite construction.

Feel the difference – ride Impact.

I’m very happy with my Impact Deck. At a body weight of 115 kg, it’s still performing brilliantly after seven months and hasn’t lost any of its pop. Slides work really well thanks to the special coating on the underside, and rails and ledges hardly need waxing anymore. Razor tail is a thing of the past with these decks—even after seven months of intense riding, there’s not the slightest sign of it. I’ve now ordered a new deck because I wanted something special. They were happy to accommodate my request and even made a custom deck just for me. I’m looking forward to riding it next season.

My only gripe is that I’m literally having to get used to waaaaaaay more pop than any deck I’ve ever owned. There’s a learning curve. But what a quality product. Please distribute more in the US. 😬

I’ve been skating this heavy since I got it not because I liked it but because I was trying to get used to the shape which I couldn’t manage to do the nose and tail are way too steep for me and honestly that makes or breaks a board for me. Which means when you go to pop it’s so delayed that it cause ghost Ollie’s or no pop Ollie’s which effects the rest of your flip tricks. I’m giving it a 3 out of 5 because it’s too heavy and it’s too concave. The nose and tail being so steep really ruined this experience for me. That being said. Whatever it is made out of is mind blowing. This thing is crazy strong and slides beautifully. I wish could actually enjoy skating it but this shape is so off but that’s just my personal experience. Others might love the shape and give it a 5/5 and I would completely understand.
